Terms & Conditions.

By paying a deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the following Terms and Conditions of Amy’s Cakes Ltd.

Once your deposit has been received or a purchase has been made, you enter into a legally binding contract with Amy’s Cakes Ltd, which must be upheld by both parties.

Pricing

• Quotes are valid for 48 hours from the time of issue.
• By paying your deposit, you secure the quoted price and protect your order from any future price increases, except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control (e.g. significant rises in ingredient or fuel costs, or major changes to the cake design).

Deposits & Payments

• A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your order and secure your chosen date.
• Dates cannot be held without a deposit.
• Final payment is due no later than one week before collection or delivery (for weddings, one month before).
• Payment must be received in full and cleared before the event; otherwise, the order will not be released.
• Payments should be made via bank transfer to the account details provided.
• Failure to respond to communications about outstanding payments may result in refusal of future bookings.

Cancellation Policy

• More than 14 days’ notice: Amy’s Cakes will do their best to transfer your deposit to a new date, subject to availability.
• Less than 14 days’ notice: Your deposit will be retained and cannot be transferred to another booking.
• If an event is postponed, Amy’s Cakes will endeavour to transfer your order if the new date is available; otherwise, it will be treated as a cancellation.
• Amy’s Cakes reserves the right to cancel in exceptional circumstances beyond our control (e.g. fire, serious illness). In such cases, all payments made will be refunded in full.

Delivery & Collection

• Delivery is available for wedding cakes and by special arrangement only, agreed prior to payment.
• Delivery charges are based on mileage and time.
• All other cakes must be collected from Amy’s Cakes premises.
• Once collected or delivered, Amy’s Cakes cannot accept liability for damage.
• A cake care guide will be provided — please read it carefully before collection.
• Tiered cakes are delicate; please ask for advice on safe transport or request delivery (additional charge applies).

Damage

• Amy’s Cakes is not responsible for any damage occurring once the cake has left the premises.
• If damage occurs after collection, you may contact Amy to discuss repairs, which will be charged accordingly.

Non-Edible Items

Please note that most cakes contain non-edible elements, such as:

• Support dowels in tiered cakes
• Ribbons or card toppers
• Toothpicks or skewers securing decorations

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed before serving.

Cake Reproduction Policy

• Cakes inspired by images or designs from other bakers will be made as Amy’s interpretation of the design, not an exact replica.
• Each cake is handmade individually, so slight variations in colour or detail may occur.

Allergen Information

• While Amy can make cakes without certain ingredients (e.g. nuts), her kitchen handles nuts and other allergens and is not a nut-free environment.
• It is the customer’s responsibility to inform all consumers of any potential allergen risks.

Complaints & Refunds

• Any concerns about your cake should be raised immediately upon collection or delivery to allow Amy the opportunity to resolve the issue.
• Other complaints should be sent via email with supporting evidence (e.g. photos).
• No refunds will be issued due to a change of mind.
• Refunds are given at Amy’s discretion.
