Sunset Safari Theme Cake
One of My Favourite Cakes to Date 🐘
This was such a special cake to make — and one that reminded me just how much I love what I do.
It was only my second cake of the year after taking a year off from baking, and it couldn’t have been a better one to come back to. The customer wanted something truly special for his wife, who loves elephants and had recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime.
We spent some time chatting over email, bouncing around ideas until we landed on a design that he knew she would love. The brief was personal, meaningful, and full of love — exactly the kind of cake I enjoy creating.
The finished cake was a 8-inch chocolate mud cake, made with four layers of rich sponge, filled with chocolate frosting and ganache, and finished with coloured frosting on the outside to tie in with the theme.
When the customer came to collect it, he was absolutely delighted.
After taking a year away from cakes, this order completely reaffirmed my love for cake making. And so did the review...
